THE MV BAVARIA

The MV Bavaria was built in 2016 in Thailand according to the latest marine and safety standards, she is a steel ship 28 meters long and 6.5 meters wide.  Based on 15 years of experience in the dive industry, the ship was designed by divers for divers. It has all the amenities that a safari boat must have.

OUR CABINS

All guests are accommodated in comfortable cabins with air conditioning. The ship can accommodate a maximum of 24 guests in 12 cabins, all have individually adjustable air conditioners most with private bathrooms. On the upper deck there are two standard twin cabins with shared shower / WC. The main deck offers two deluxe cabins with double bed and shower / WC and six comfort twin cabins with shower / WC. The lower deck has two comfort cabins with double bed with shower / WC. The are housekeeping staff on board to service your cabin.

AMENITIES

Bavaria has a salon with the latest TV, DVD and stereo system to enjoy music or movies, wifi is free - when there is reception. There is a massage service on board to help you unwind after diving and a spacious partially covered sundeck with lots of loungers and mats.

Two separate toilets are also available.

FOOD ON BOARD

Friendly staff and excellent food make for a pleasant stay during the safari. Thre meals a dayserved buffet style - Breakfast, lunch, dinner plus snacks before and after dives. Soft drinks in bottles, drinking water, coffee, tea and fresh fruit are all included. Alcohol, soft drinks in cans and ice cream are available to purchase on board.

DIVING WITH US

6-day tours take you to the most beautiful and famous dive sites in Thailand (Similan Islands, Koh Bon, Koh Tachai, Richelieu Rock and Surin Islands), 7-day trips to Myanmar to the largely unknown Mergui archipelago. Everything at a unique price / performance ratio. The group size is 4 - 6 divers per diveguide. There is a large diving platform and generous equipment area. the dive deck has two Bauer compressors and a Nitrox membrane plant.

EMBARKATION AND DEPARTURE

  • Day 1: Meeting at 16:00 o’clock at the diving school of Loma Diving Adventure in Khao Lak, preparation of the equipment and completion of the formalities.
  • Transfer by minibus to the harbour Tap Lamu.
  • Checking in on the boat, boat briefing and dinner, departure time is approx. at 19:30 o’clock.
  • Accepted payment methods on board: Cash, Local currency

ARRIVAL AND DISEMBARKATION

  • Your last dives will be on the last day in the morning
  • It is your responsibility to ensure you respect the 24 hour no-fly time after your last dive!
  • The boat arrives back in Khao Lak around 16:00 on the last day

GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE ITINERARY

  • 6 Nights
  • Approx. 21 - 22 dives
  • You are required to have 4 - 10 dives experience and Open Water certification.
  • Snorkels and non divers welcome If you have not dived in the last 12 months you should have a refresher course before your trip. 
  • Marine life at the dive sites of the Similan Islands is truly abundant 
  • Characteristic swim-throughs, ledges, and cavern
  • Surin Islands,Richelieu rock and Koh Bon, Koh Tachai are a delight to the eyes both above and underwater
  • Diving is possible from the end of October to early May
  • Over 200 species of hard coral have been counted here
  • Coral gardens are found in 5mt of water, excellent for Beginner Scuba diving and even snorkelling
  • The main attraction of diving for many divers are the dive sites on the western sides of the islands with stronger currents on some days, offer an exciting mix of boulders, wall diving and coral bommies, better suited for advanced divers

DAY 1 

  • Meeting at 16:00 o’clock at the diving school of Loma Diving Adventure in Khao Lak, preparation of the equipment and completion of the formalities. Transfer by minibus to the harbour Tab Lamu. Checking in on the boat, boat briefing and dinner, departure time is approx. at 19:30 o’clock.
  • Safety Briefing,  Crew Introduction, Necessary Dive Paperwork, Cabin allocation and ship orientation will take place before departing the Harbour.
  • During the journey to our first dive site for a check dive, please take this opportunity to familiarize yourselves with the vessel and make yourself comfortable. 
  • Please Note: This is a sample itinerary and nº of dives, dive sites, etc. may be subject to change due to weather conditions and other unforseeable factors

DAY 2 - 6

  • 4 great dives every day to look forward to staring with your check dive on the Island #4.
  • Other dives at  Island #7. Possibility of a beach trip
  • Similan – on the third day of the safari you will dive on the best places of the Similan Islands, as Elephant Head and dive sites of the island #8.
  • Here you will have chance to see sharks and rays.
  • Land trip to Similan island #8 with its white beaches and crystal clear water.
  • Similan and Kho Bon – on the fourth day of the safari you will do 2 dives on the island #9, the most northern island of the Similans.
  • Then cruise to Koh Bon, to one of the best known dive sites for Manta sightings. Around the rock and on Koh Bon Pinnacle Rays and Mantas can be found. The best time is from middle of December till April. Here you will make the remaining 2 dives.
  • Koh Tachai and Surin islands
  • Start with two dives on Koh Tachai. The place is known for tortoises and leopard sharks. But also Manta and with some luck also a whale shark can be seen.
  • Then cruise to the Surin Islands where you will make the remaining two dives of the day. Tortoises, big parrot fish, reef sharks, Napoleon and many other small reef inhabitants can be found here.
  • After the third dive possibility to visit a sea Gipsy’s village on the Surin islands.
  • Surin islands and Richelieu Rock
  • Early in the morning experience the wild nature of the Surin islands and the smaller islands. Begin the day with a dive on the Surin islands and then go further to Richelieu Rock, one of the best known diving places in Thailand. Here one can find almost everything, from seahorse up to schools of barracudas, tunas and cuttlefish. Also big fish like Mantas and whale sharks are sighted regularly.
  • 3 dives here, before you will start the return journey to Koh Tachai and Koh Bon.

DAY 7 

  • 2 dives/Koh Tachai and Koh Bon
  • First dive on Koh Tachai and then cruise for the last dive to Koh Bon, before start the return journey to the harbour. Arrive at the harbour approximately 16.00 hours.

CANCELLATION POLICY

What if I need to cancel my booking?

  • Your reservation request is obligation free and you can cancel anytime within the first 72 hours. During this time you can easily find matching flights and get answers from our reservations team to any further questions you may have. After you have confirmed and paid for your reservation, the following cancellation policy applies:
  • 20% of the total booking amount will be charged if you cancel more than 60 days prior to arrival
  • 30% will be charged if you cancel between 60 and 30 days prior to arrival
  • 50% will be charged if you cancel between 30 and 15 days prior to arrival
  • 100% will be charged if you cancel less than 15 days prior to arrival
  • In case of cancellation the refund will be transferred to your bank account, credit card or paypal account within 10 business days

BEFORE TRAVELLING

  • Make sure you meet the country's requirements corresponding to your nationality
  • Make sure your passport is valid at least six months after the date you plan to visit the country
  • Diving insurance is mandatory for divers of all ages on all of our trips: bring your certificate as proof
  • It is strongly recommended to have travel insurance that is appropriate for the type of diving holidays you are going to do
  • Check the electrical standards (such as which plugs are used) in your destination country before travelling and bring the appropriate adaptor if necessary.
  • The itinerary and the number of dives are indicative and are subject to weather conditions and conditions: safety is always first
  • All divers must provide their diving certification card
  • Diving computers are compulsory
  • Local rates, fuel surcharges, distance rates, port fees, etc. may change without notice due to changes in government policy, changes in the price of oil, etc. The changes are beyond our control and the increases must be paid if the boat requests them. We will endeavour to inform you of any changes as soon as possible. A change in these rates does not entitle you to cancel the trip.
