OUR BOAT

MY Moonima is a budget and comfortable liveaboard offering great value for money.

CABINS

There are 8 beautifully appointed cabins on board, each with an en-suite bathroom, storage space in each cabin and individually controlled AC, to cater to a maximum of 16 to 18 passengers. There is one upper deck double cabin, 2 cabins with double beds and 5 cabins with double and single beds.

AMENITIES

Facilities include an indoor air-conditioned lounge on the main deck with a bar, comfortable sofas, chairs and tables, TV/DVD/CD, Hi-Fi stereo and a selection of books and board games. On the second deck is a panoramic lounge area with corner bar, where a selection of drinks, beers, wines and international liquors is served. There are two spacious sun-decks for topping up your tan with plenty of sunbeds and a shaded area, plus a lounge at the bow of the boat where you can enjoy the fresh air of the Maldives.

FOOD ON BOARD

Meals consist of a balance of international favourites and local cuisine with Maldivian, Indian and Sri Lankan influences. Following each dive you can expect tasty snacks such as desserts and fresh fruits. Special diets, including Halal diets, are catered for with prior notice.

EMBARKATION AND DEPARTURE

  • You can check in on the boat as of 11:00
  • The boat departs Male in the afternoon on the same day

ARRIVAL AND DISEMBARKATION

  • Your last dives will be on the second to last day in the morning
  • It is your responsibility to ensure you respect the 24 hour no-fly time after your last dive!
  • The boat docks back in Male in the evening on the second to last day
  • Check out and disembarkation is around 07:30 on the last day.
  • Transfer back to Malè airport

  • The senior instructor may impose In water supervision or restriction from diving to any diver whose technical level is not sufficient to guarantee safe diving conditions.

GENERAL INFORMATION

  • Approx. 14 – 16 dives, 50+ dives recommended, Advanced Open Water
  • This itinerary is ideal for a first time in the Maldives or for the divers who want to enjoy the best of the Maldives.
  • Cruising through the central atolls of the archipelago, you will visit some of its most famous dive sites.
  • The route through North Male Atolls or South (depending on the circuit), and Ari and Vaavu offers many sites known for their abundance of marine life.
  • Maldives are unique for divers because of the abundance and diversity of its marine life and you are just a fin kick away to witness it!
  • Famous cleaning stations for manta rays, Thilas (reef just below the surface) where fish density is impressive, fringing reefs where Mantas Mobula are often encountered and Kandu, channel where the pelagic can be seen (reef sharks, eagle rays, schools of jacks and tuna).
  • Usually fresh fish and traditional Maldivian cooking and international cuisine
  • Evening «under the stars», presentation of the fauna of the Indian Ocean.
  • Snorkeling sessions with manta rays are planned on secret places.

PROGRAM

DAY 1

  • Safety Briefing, Crew Introduction, Necessary Dive Paperwork, Cabin allocation and ship orientation will take place before departing the Harbour.
  • During the journey to our first dive site for a check dive, please take this opportunity to familiarize yourselves with the vessel and make yourself comfortable.
  • Please Note: This is a sample itinerary and nº of dives, dive sites, etc. may be subject to change due to weather conditions and other unforseeable factors

DAY 2 - 6

  • North Male Atoll Lankan Manta Point, Located on the eastern side of the Atoll, this dive site is made of a gentle slope ending on a sandy bottom. During the south-west Monsoon, Mantas come here to get cleaned. Sunlight Thila, On a sandy bottom, loads of cleaner wrasse found shelter around 3 little coral blocks. Manta rays like to visit the place from september to november. Nassimo Thila, located next to the main Thila, a rock formation of four blocks offers a beautiful landscape of soft coral, as well as a great variety of fishes. Back Faru, the outreef of Hulumale is ideal for a first dive of the holidays. Plenty of moray eels live here,including the magnificent honeycomb morey. South Male Atoll Cocoa Kandu & Kandhooma Thila, There are many different ways to dive this channel and his Thila. The «blue» part of the dive offers good chances to meet grey reef sharks and the drift part on the thila is full of reef fishes. Guraidhoo Kandu, Deep channel stepping down to the ledge.Great place to meet sharks and squadron of eagle rays. Emboodoo Kandu, So close from Male and so beautiful! Great channel with grey reef sharks, barracudas,Napoleons, eagle rays... North Ari Atoll Maaya Thila, Tiny Thila is a natural park full of surprises! Very popular for night dives, this place is home of many sharks and turtles. The top reef at 6m/20ft is great to end the dive. Fesdu Wreck, This small Wreck lays on a sandy bottom at 30m, close to an army of garden eels.Take the west direction from there and find a nice thila where the small critters gather. Will you spot the resident frog fish? Fish Head, Magnificent thila! Grey reefs, white tips, Jacks,Turtles and schooling fishes make this dive unforgettable. Fesdu Lagoon, Night dive with manta rays, are you in? Moofushi Kandu Ou Corner, Great dive with eagle rays, grey reef sharks,napoleons and mantas, what else? South Ari Atoll Dhigga Thila, 150m/500ft long thila with stunning overhangs covered with colorful soft corals. The last part of the dive in a hard coral garden is just magical. Kudarah Thila, The quantity of fishes on this marine park is just amazing. Schooling Jacks and snappers stay in place in the split point next to an anemone field. Keep your Eyes open for a guitar shark passing by! 5 Rocks, One of the best example of the outstanding diversity of the maldivian marine life. Massive gorgone fans, soft corals and clouds of fishes make this place so special. Kahambu Thila, Turtle fans? This place is for you. Only Seafari divers visit this place! Maamigili Hr, the main interest of this long outreef is the possibility of meeting Whale Sharks and Zebra sharks! Drift along and keep your eyes open! Vaavu Atoll Miyaru Kandu, beautiful challe crossing with schools of grey reef sharks and resident eagle rays. Alimatha Hr, exceptional night dive with black tip sharks,Stingrays and loads of Tawny Nurse Sharks. Fotteyo Kandu, one of the best dive in the Maldives. On top of the schools of Sharks and eagle rays, the soft corals are absolutely amazing.

DAY 7

  • 2 dives in the morning depending on guest flight schedules and the 24 hour requirement before flying.

DAY 8

  • Leisurely breakfast before check out, disembarkation and transfer to the airport

CANCELLATION POLICY

What happens if I need to cancel my reservation?

Your reservation request is free and you can cancel it at any time within the first 72 hours. During this time, you can easily find matching flights and get answers from our reservation team for any other questions you may have. Once you have confirmed and paid for your reservation, the following cancellation policy will apply:

  • 0% of the total amount of the reservation will be charged if you cancel more than 112 days before the arrival date.
  • A 10% fee will be charged if you cancel between 112 and 67 days before the arrival date.
  • A 25% fee will be charged if you cancel between 67 and 52 days before the arrival date.
  • 50% will be charged if you cancel between 52 and 37 days before the arrival date.
  • 75% will be charged if canceled between 37 and 22 days before the arrival date.
  • 100% will be charged if canceled less than 22 days before the arrival date.

In case of cancellation, the refund will be transferred to your bank account, credit card or PayPal account within 10 business days.

BEFORE TRAVELLING

  • Make sure you meet the country's requirements corresponding to your nationality
  • Make sure your passport is valid at least six months after the date you plan to visit the country
  • Diving insurance is mandatory for divers of all ages on all of our trips: bring your certificate as proof
  • It is strongly recommended to have travel insurance that is appropriate for the type of diving holidays you are going to do
  • Check the electrical standards (such as which plugs are used) in your destination country before travelling and bring the appropriate adaptor if necessary.
  • The itinerary and the number of dives are indicative and are subject to weather conditions and conditions: safety is always first
  • All divers must provide their diving certification card
  • Diving computers are compulsory
  • Local rates, fuel surcharges, distance rates, port fees, etc. may change without notice due to changes in government policy, changes in the price of oil, etc. The changes are beyond our control and the increases must be paid if the boat requests them. We will endeavor to inform you of any changes as soon as possible. A change in these rates does not entitle you to cancel the trip.
