The Raja Laut is a magnificent gaff-topsail schooner built in the tradition of the 19th century Baltic traders. The 100ft hull is entirely built of Iron Wood.

The exterior of the yacht features a stunning teak deck, with multiple beds for sunbathing or lounging, both in the sun and under shade, and a central dining table, where meals are served alfresco under a large awning.

Behind the classic lines is a modern luxury sailing yacht, equipped with a 300hp engine, watermark, and the latest in navigation and satellite technology. With her beautiful cabins and her recreational equipment including Scuba Diving facilities, Raja Laut has all one needs for the perfect escape at sea.


The six cabins each have a rich timber interior, en-suite bathrooms, air-conditioning, mini-safe, hot showers and electric toilets. Cabin towels and deck towels are provided. 

Raja Laut has 6 Double guest Staterooms each with closet, table, mirror, en-suite bathrooms with showers. 3 Cabins have large Queen-size beds and 3 Cabins have Bunk beds. Minimum headroom in cabins is 2.05m going up to 2.15m


The meals on-board are usually a fantastic buffet style with a variety of Indonesian and International dishes to suit everyone. Indonesian food is traditionally a bit spicy, fish is available on-board. Water, tea and coffee and are complimentary as well as a free glass of wine with dinner. Soft drinks, fresh juices and alcohol (cocktails, spirits, wine and beer) are chargeable. For any special dietary requests, such as vegetarian or any allergies, please inform us prior to arrival. We source items locally, therefore items such as, but not limited to; wholemeal pastas or flour, gluten free products or soya substitutes are not typically available.


Centrally located between the cabins below deck is the Main Saloon, which is an open-plan feature of the boat consisting of large settees in a U-shape configuration around a coffee table. On the wall is a 49" HD flat-screen TV with DVD-player and at the coffee table is an internet access point. A mini bar is also located in this communal area along with a library, movies and games.

Exactly midships is a flush, spacious open deck area suitable for setting a large dining table, perfect for al-fresco dining, with a canopy that can quickly be setup for shade.

In keeping with the Baltic Trader tradition, there is a cargo hatch styled seating area at midship with a skylight providing light to the saloon below.

Aft of midships is the main deck house with access on the port and starboard sides. Its dining area comprises two dinner tables, which can accommodate 12 Diners in total. The galley is separated from the dining area by a breakfast bar and is equipped with a modern stove, a fridge/freezer and a microwave.

The fully-equipped navigation and Captain's area is located aft of the Galley leading to the outside Helm and Poopdeck seating area above the transom. 

Its not all about Diving on board the Raja Laut - for Non Divers and 'downtime' for Divers you can take advantage of many activities available including Kayaking, Fishing, Water Skiing, Wakeboarding and Snorkelling. We also have a Banana Boat for fun . 

There will be chances for Beach BBQ's and parties as well as Hiking, Trekking and Cultural visits. 


Join the Emperor Raja Laut for an exciting dive liveaboard adventure in Indonesia. Diving is offered year-round to some of the best spots in the region.

From June to September guests can enjoy thrilling diving in Komodo National Park. Visit world class dive sites Castle Rock, Crystal Rock and Manta Alley, with the chance to see the Komodo Dragon, manta rays, sharks and much more.

In November she moves to the diverse region of Raja Ampat, the epicentre of the Coral Triangle and known as one of the most bio-diverse marine areas in the world.

There are also a limited number of crossing trips each year, where the Emperor Raja Laut travels between destinations and visits the Banda Islands where you visit rarely dived sites with the chance to see hammerheads, active volcanoes, amazing critters and fantastic pelagic action on this once-in-a-lifetime trip.

Diving takes place from the 2 large RIB's and nitrox is available for those certified.

  • Pickup time at the airport is according to your flights. Give yourself enough time to go through immigration and pickup your bags
  • You will be met by a representative wearing a uniform and holding a sign representing the boat . The meeting point is at the main exit after you have collected your luggage


  • You can check in on the boat as of 12:00
  • The boat departs Labuan Bajo in the afternoon on the same day or the same day or as soon as everybody are on board

  • Your last dives will be on the second to last day in the morning
  • It is your responsibility to ensure you respect the 24 hour no-fly time after your last dive!
  • The boat docks back in Labuan Bajo around 16:00 on the second to last day
  • Transfer back to the airport
  • Check out is at anytime up to midday on the day of departure. For guests continuing their holiday in Indonesia at a resort, hotel or another liveaboard, your on-going transfers need to be arranged by you from the airport. We will not be able to arrange direct transfers from the liveaboard to resorts.


  • It is highly recommended that travellers arrive 90 minutes before departure for domestic flights due to check-in delays in remote locations. It is also recommended to book the earliest possible flight to the departure city of the boat in case of delays.
  • Emperor Divers Indonesia cannot be held responsible for delays and cancellations of domestic airlines and cannot wait for departure to the following day with all other guests onboard.
  • Some domestic airlines allow only 10-15 kilos of baggage but excess baggage is usually only charged at RPH20-30,000 per kilo. (approx. US $2.00).
  • Garuda Indonesia is our recommendation for the most reliable, diver (baggage) friendly airline.

  • We recommend a Skills Review if it has been longer than six months since your last dive.
  • The Komodo National Park is world renowned for the excellent quality and variety of diving.
  • Water temperatures change between the north and south of the park and provide the diver with varied encounters.
  • In the north we have the black sands of the Sangeang Volcano with its critters and bubble flows, and the reefs around Gili Banta.
  • The south provides cooler temperatures with manta action and nutrient rich reefs with ocean flow from the Indian Ocean.
  • The central section provides reefs and small islands teeming with life fed by the currents running between the islands of Komodo and Rinca.
  • Add to this the chance to see the famous Komodo Dragon in its natural habitat, beautiful beaches, look-outs to climb and you have a paradise both below and above the water.
  • Please note: Divers going to South Komodo need to realize the temperatures can drop from 28°C down to around 20°C. A 5mm wetsuit and hood is highly recommended for this region.
  • Water temperature in the central and northern section of the park average 27-28°C.
  • Up to 3 dives per day, last day diving only 2 dives

About Komodo

    • Diver´s dreams are made of with visibility up to 30 meters/ 98 ft. and marine life of all shapes and sizes. Plankton rich water that come in from the deep surrounding waters make the area thick with life. Huge shoals of fish and pelagics are on offer all around the islands. The protection from the National Park also means that the waters and reefs are incredibly healthy and well stocked with fish of all shapes and sizes.
    • You can experience up to 8 knots while diving and also highly changeable meaning most dives are drift dives. These currents are what bring the big life to Komodo though, with mantas, hammerheads, dolphins and mola mola making the most of the plankton rich waters.
    • Macro lovers won´t be disappointed either, with pygmy seahorses wrapped around bright coloured gorgonian fans and a rainbow of different nudibranchs on offer. Photographers can hope to get some great shots in Komodo, whether it is dramatic videos of sharks and mantas or close-ups with the elusive ornate ghost pipefish.

          What if I need to cancel my reservation?

          Your reservation request is non-binding and can be cancelled at any time within the first 72 hours. During this time you can easily find matching flights and get answers from our booking team to any other questions you may have. After you have confirmed and paid for your reservation, the following cancellation policy applies:

          • 30 % is non-refundable
          • Between 120 days and 90 days before the trip = 70 % is refundable
          • 90 days before the trip = no refund

          In case of cancellation, the refund will be transferred to your bank account, credit card or paypal account within 10 working days.


          • Make sure you meet the requirements for your nationality and entry into the country you are visiting,
          • Make sure your passport is valid for at least six months after the date you plan to leave the country
          • Dive insurance is mandatory for divers of all ages on all our trips: bring your certificate as proof
          • It is strongly recommended to take out a travel insurance that is appropriate for the type of dive vacation booked
          • Check the electrical standards (such as what plugs are used) in your destination country before you travel and bring the appropriate adapter if necessary.
          • Itinerary and number of dives are indicative and subject to weather and conditions: safety always comes first
          • The operator of the vessel is not responsible for civil unrest, terrorism, strikes, illness, epidemics, accidents, injuries, damage, loss and theft, quarantine, customs regulations, changes to flight schedules, delays, deportation or refusal of entry by immigration authorities and other circumstances beyond our control.
          • In the event of a change in the cruise itinerary due to a major cause there is no refund, if there would be a refund if the duration of a cruise were to change, the affected passengers will be offered a credit or refund of the cruise fare pro-rated for the number of days of reduction of the cruise itinerary that was scheduled.
          • In the event that a cruise is cancelled, the ship will make every effort to provide a suitable alternative including, the option to participate in another available ship.
          • If no alternative offered is accepted by the affected cruise passengers, the ship reserves the right to provide a refund of the amount of the cruise fare paid or not.
          • All divers must provide their dive certification card
          • Dive computers are mandatory
          • Local rates, fuel surcharges, distance rates, port fees, etc. may change without notice due to changes in government policy, changes in oil prices, etc. Changes are beyond our control and increases must be paid upon request. We will endeavor to inform you of any changes as soon as possible. A change in these rates does not give you the right to cancel the trip.
