THE MV LIBERTY

Liberty’s hull is designed for high efficiency and reaches a maximum of 12 knots powered by two 610HP MAN engines. At a length of 31 meters and a width of 7.5 meters her dimensions give her an excellent attitude on most sea conditions.

MV Liberty’s dive deck is oversized for her capacity of 20 divers and provides real ample space to turn dive preparation into a nice part of the dive experience. The dive platform is low enough for easy access to either of Liberty’s two RIBs.

All cabins, Saloon and the dining area are fully air conditioned with individually controlled thermostats.

OUR CABINS

Cabins are all furnished with cotton linen and towels with a fresh change in the middle of the week.

On the main deck, we have a Honeymoon suit which has 1 queen sized bed and a small couch. By far, the favourite two cabins are situated on the upper deck. They are the only 2 cabins furnished with bunk beds and are compensated with a large bathroom and sea view windows. On the lower deck are spacious 3 double cabins with 2 twin beds and 3 triple with 2 twin beds and 1 bunk . All cabins have AC, a mini bar and an ample bathroom.

AMENITIES

The Saloon and connected dining area are an excellent place for a quite cup of coffee and a good book. The rich Mahogany woods finished with Egypt’s best French Polishing inspire a classic marine atmosphere.

DIVING WITH US

Sudan’s unique atmosphere is a ground for dreams and underwater adventures, a real diving rarity where ancient legends come to life. This is the home of Cousteau’s underwater empire, where he conducted his experiments on how man could live under the water. Of the world class ship wreck Umbria resting in her watery grave and of Shaab Rumi with its untouched coral and teeming with hammerhead sharks.

Dive sites

  • The wreck of the Umbria One of the best wrecks in the world that scuttled by her captain at the beginning of the Second World War. It Still preserves almost intact its military cargo and hosts a large number of marine life. The wreck is easy to dive, with a depth ranging between 5 to 33 meters and a virtual absence of currents. The exploration of the wreck represents a real adventure for divers as so much of the cargo and structure of the ship remains intact.
  • Suakin archipelago is located in the southern area of Port Sudan. It is composed of hundreds of islets and coral reefs.  Among the various points of this archipelago: Sha’ab Amber,  Sha’ab Jumna, Pinnacle, Logan, Seil’Ada, Hindi Gider, Protector and Preserver Reef. It is easy to find hammerhead sharks, grey reef and white tip and occasionally, silver tip.
  • Sanganeb, here the dives are made adrift, usually from north to south. It is a very abrupt wall and being in front of an extension of deep waters, combines the best of the reef and pelagic fauna, where sharks, turtles and even dolphins stand out. The southern part of Sanganeb offers in its shallower waters large banks of surgeons, unicorns and barracudas moving along the reef. In the south and west part of this point there is a sandy extension between 20 and 36 meters from which you can see reef sharks, while in its northern part there is a slope that falls deep and from where you can see gray sharks, hammers and sometimes. solitary specimens of tiger shark and silver tip.
  • Shaab Rumi an authentic coral garden and cleaning station for some pelagic species. On the west side there are two openings that allow passage to the inner lagoon. At 9 meters of depth next to the external part of the south entrance you can find the remains of the Pre-continent II, the underwater cabin built by the team of Jacques Cousteau in 1963.
