The 33 meter TemuKira is a liveaboard operating in Indonesia as part of the Grand Komodo Fleet. The traditional wooden schooner was built in 2004 and offers itineraries in Indonesia, concentrating in the Raja Ampat area.


The Temu Kira was built following the traditional Indonesian techniques and is all quality, beautiful wood and she accommodates 12 guests.

The traditional vessel features 6 comfortably appointed cabins. There are two cabins fitted with bunk beds while the 4 others have double beds. Each  cabin has an en-suite bathroom, air-conditioning and plenty of storage space for your belongings.


When you step outside you will find a generously sized sundeck ready to welcome the 12 divers, the relaxation space is perfect to enjoy the beautiful views of Indonesia. You can soak in the sun rays or stay cool under the awning, laying on the many loungers.

Indoor on the Temu Kira, you will find a spacious air-conditioned lounge. It’s the perfect place to escape the hottest days and enjoy a book or the multimedia entertainment unit. Most noteworthy is that the dive vessel features a dedicated camera station where you can work and charge your batteries.


The Temu Kira has been providing quality dive cruises for a while in many areas of Indonesia. The professional dive guides and instructors have lead divers to amazing encounters in Komodo, Raja Ampat, Alor, Ambon and many more locations. The dive boat is fitted with upgraded navigation and safety technologies and meets the international standards. Also, the Temu Kira has a diving tender to make the whole scuba diving operation easier. Finally, you’ll find on this traditional boat a well organized  dive  deck with 12 individual gear-up stations and plenty of space to move around.

  • The trip begins in Sorong and ends in Sorong
  • The closest airport is Sorong/Dominique Edward Osok (SOQ)
  • Pickup time at the airport is according to your flights.
  • Give yourself enough time to go through immigration and pickup your bags


  • You will be met by Grand Komodo staff  who will take you directly to the boat
  • Hotel pickup time is in the morning
  • You can check in on the boat as of 11:00
  • The boat departs Sorong on the same day, as soon as all the guests are on board. Ideally around noon
  • Accepted payment methods on board: Cash
  • DIN/INT adaptors are available on board but the operator recomments to bring your own just in case
  • Towels and soap are included


  • It is your responsibility to ensure you respect the 24 hour no-fly time after your last dive!
  • The boat docks back in Sorong in the afternoon on the second to last day
  • Check out and disembarkation is between 09:00 and 10:00 on the last day.
  • Hotel drop-off time is in the morning
  • Airport drop-off time is according to your flights


  • You can fly out anytime after returning to port on the second to last day or last day
  • It is suggested that you bring your personal BCD, wetsuit, regulator, mask, fins, snorkel
  • Currently this trip is scheduled to use the port of Sorong(SOQ). However, the government of Raja Ampat is considering to ask all liveaboards on Raja Ampat trips to go through the port of Waisai in the future. Waisai is about a 2h ferry ride from Sorong and has its own small airport, Marinda airport (RJM).
  • There is NOT a confirmed date for this change in regulation yet.

  • Level required: Advanced Open Water
  • 50+ logged dives recommended
  • If you are an Open Water Diver, we recommend having advanced experience or taking your Advanced Open Water course on board to maximise your enjoyment from the trip.
  • Inexperienced divers may find some dives challenging and may be asked by the Cruise Director to skip dives that are not suitable for their diving experience
  • We recommend a Skills Review if it has been longer than six months since your last dive.

  • Safety Briefing,  Crew Introduction, Necessary Dive Paperwork, Cabin allocation and ship orientation will take place before departing the Harbour.
  • During the journey to our first dive site for a check dive, please take this opportunity to familiarize yourselves with the vessel and make yourself comfortable.

DAY 2 -9

  • You will dive the best sites on the itinerary
  • 2 dives in the morning depending on guest flight schedules and the 24 hour requirement before flying.

DAY 10

  • This is where Dr. Gerald Allen counted 273 fish species on a single dive.
  • Dives where you are inundated with vast schools of fish, on the best of dives fish seem to block out the sun there are so many. Mellow drift dives across the most beautiful coral slopes and channels, unique dives with heavily undercut mushroom shaped islands with gorgeous coral growth virtually to the surface.
  • Some of the best coral gardens we have seen are in this area.

What if I need to cancel my reservation?Your reservation request is non-binding and can be cancelled at any time within the first 72 hours. During this time you can easily find matching flights and get answers from our booking team to any other questions you may have. After you have confirmed and paid for your reservation, the following cancellation policy applies:

  • 30% deposit will not be refunded
  • 100% will be charged if you cancel less than 30 days prior to arrival

In case of cancellation, the refund will be transferred to your bank account, credit card or paypal account within 10 working days.

  • Make sure your passport is valid at least six months after the date you plan to visit the country
  • Diving insurance is mandatory for divers of all ages on all of our trips: bring your certificate as proof
  • It is strongly recommended to have travel insurance that is appropriate for the type of diving holidays you are going to do
  • Check the electrical standards (such as which plugs are used) in your destination country before travelling and bring the appropriate adaptor if necessary.
  • The itinerary and the number of dives are indicative and are subject to weather conditions and conditions: safety is always first
  • All divers must provide their diving certification card
  • Diving computers are compulsory
  • Local rates, fuel surcharges, distance rates, port fees, etc. may change without notice due to changes in government policy, changes in the price of oil, etc. The changes are beyond our control and the increases must be paid if the boat requests them. We will endeavour to inform you of any changes as soon as possible. A change in these rates does not entitle you to cancel the trip.
