OUR BOAT

MY DAMAI II has a deck length of 40 meters and a beam of 9 meters at its widest point, she can accommodate 12 -14 guests and was designed to offer personal service that only a vessel of this size can dedicate to small groups. It has been built to an uncompromising standard and fitted out with all the latest diving, navigation and safety equipment to ensure that the level of service appreciated on our first vessel is maintained and, where possible, improved upon, including satellite wifi capabilities. 

OUR CABINS

The below deck accommodation has been designed to accommodate single or twin occupants in a level of luxury not seen on another vessel in Indonesia. Each cabin boasts a private shower and head with a queen-size bed and a separate day bed. The cabins measure approximately 20sq.mts  (225 sq.ft) each and have been finished with the highest quality furnishings. The astern staterooms are over 40sq.mts each and boast their own private deck with loungers, a super-king size bed, day beds, two desks and ensuite shower and separate head.  Damai II also provides a range of their own unique body wash, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion and hand soap which allows guests the time and trouble of packing these items.  Also provided for guests’ convenience are TVs in each cabin, towels, daily housekeeping, laundry service, hairdryers and a selection of back up items. The luxurious cabins have 110v and 220v power, two-prong plugs, and international plugs that accept most devices.

FOOD ON BOARD

Their exquisite dining area will make guests feel they are in a 4 star restaurant, complete with world-class ocean vista views. Damai II knows that remote locations should not restrict the menu. The chef ensures a fully stocked vessel for the preparation of Western and local cuisine. Much of their food and produce is locally grown. Offering 3 gourmet meals a day, buffet or chef prepared, divers will be well fueled for their action-packed dives. Snacks are provided between dives as well. The Damai II offers complimentary soft drinks and the first glass of table wine is free with dinner. Beer and wines can be purchased. Guests are welcomed to bring their own wine and spirits, however, there is a limit of 1 liter per person at customs.

AMENITIES

The new vessel is slightly larger than the first ensuring three large outside deck areas with an outside dining facility, our famous massage and spa treatment area and plenty of extra lounging and sunbathing space. For more active options, try out the sea Kayaks or go snorkeling or fishing. The crew to passenger ratio will be the same as our first vessel and we hope the new systems will ensure an even more enjoyable cruise for both our returning and new guests. 

The dive systems have been made even more accommodating on the new vessel.The dive station is larger and is served by large individuals rinse tanks. The camera room has been enlarged also. The 4 diver to 1 guide ratio that our customers enjoy so much and we have added 2 custom designed high speed tender boats.

• Pickup time at the airport is according to your flights. 

EMBARKATION AND DEPARTURE

• Give yourself enough time to go through immigration and pickup your bags
• Hotel pickup time is in the morning (Transfers within 20km are complimentary)
• You can check in on the boat as of 12:00
• The boat departs Sorong early in the afternoon on the same day
• Indonesia demands flexibility for guests to secure their domestic connections; the boat wait for all guest to be on board before departing.

ARRIVAL AND DISEMBARKATION

• Your last dives will be on the second to last day in the morning
• It is your responsibility to ensure you respect the 24 hour no-fly time after your last dive!
• The boat docks back in Sorong in the afternoon on the second to last day
• Check out and disembarkation is around 08:00 on the last day.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

• We recommend that you allow yourself at least one day before and after the trip in case there are any unforeseen delays in domestic connections.
• Currently this trip is scheduled to use the port of Sorong (SOQ). However, the government of Raja Ampat is considering to ask all liveaboards on Raja Ampat trips to go through the port of Waisai in the future. Waisai is about a 2h ferry ride from Sorong and has its own small airport, Marinda airport (RJM).
• There is NOT a confirmed date for this change in regulation yet. We highly recommend that all guests check with customer support before booking their domestic flights.

GENERAL INFORMATION

• We require you have a minimum of 30 logged dives and Open Water for cruises that visit Raja Ampat, the Bandas and 50 logged dives and Advanced Open Water for cruises that visit the Komodo marine park area.
• The Indonesian Dive site are is so large that your particular itinerary will inform you of the exact qualification and experience needed for that cruise.
• To dive with a dive buddy, you must be a PADI Open Water diver or equivalent and be able to complete each dive with your buddy or following your guide. On some dives the recommended depth is below 18m therefore advanced or Deep Diver training is advised.
• Many of the dives in Indonesia are suitable for all levels of divers, however, unpredictable and strong currents are to be expected anytime and anywhere. Inexperienced divers may find some dives challenging and may be asked by the Cruise Director to skip dives that are not suitable for their diving experience
• Number of planned dives depending on the weather conditions and the route are varied but with an average of 4 dives per day - one dive will be a sunset or night dive.
• Itineraries vary in length from 6 nights to as much as 17 nights on large itineraries.
• Currents in some areas of this route can be strong.
• This itinerary offers a variety of underwater experiences including a spattering of wrecks in the north, some world class muck diving sites in the south 
• Wide range of diving experiences: high-voltage current dives, gentle drift dives, cliff dives
• Attractions include gin-clear waters, patch reefs and coral bommies, spectacular wall dives on impossible drop-offs.
• Rare Weedy, Bumphead parrotfish, Jacks (Big-eye trevallies), Giant trevallies, Spanish mackerel, schooling barracuda, hammerhead sharks, salt water crocodile, and whale shark!

• Night dives

PROGRAM

• DAY 1: Arrival and assistance at the airport. Collecting your luggage. At the indicated time, transfer to the port depending the route. Boarding the boat, welcome drink and presentation briefing of the boat and crew (depending on the schedule of flights will be the first day or the next day early morning). Distribution of cabins. Overnight on board. You can take some time this day to prepare your diving equipment. 
• DAYS 2nd to Penultimate day --- are the nº of dives in this trip.Diving trip with full board and daily diving plan. You will dive the most important dive sites of this route. Every single trip is tailor-made to create a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The decision on the itinerary is made by the cruise director based on factors such as weather conditions, dive conditions, requests of guests, schedules of other liveaboards, which we are trying to stay away from
• Penultimate Day: 2 dives in the morning. Afternoon / night, arrival at port. Dinner and accommodation on board. Free time to enjoy the local atmosphere, shopping and / or optional excursions in the area.
• Final Day: Disembark in Port. Transfer to the hotel or airports

Raja Ampat Route

• Explore the wonders of the Dampier Straits in northern Raja Ampat. Enjoy Kri with it’s sloping reef and surrounding seamounts with schooling fish.
• Visit the manta cleaning stations at Manta Sandy and hunt under the dock at Arborek for cool macro.
• Dive the beautiful coral gardens at Penemu and travel the lagoon at Penemu by tender boat to climb to the viewpoint for photo opportunities.
• Head down to southern Raja Ampat and colourful soft coral reefs surrounding Misool.
• This area has an abundance of species with more mantas, sharks and schooling fish to accompany the many macro opportunities; definitely the centre of marine biodiversity in the world.
• Raja Ampat is the bees knees in the world of scuba diving. If you don't enjoy your dives here, you may as well sell your equipment!
• The term "Frontier Diving" seems to have been invented for the Raja Ampat islands. To visit these waters is to feel at the edge of the earth. To gaze over the crystalline seas from onboard a liveaboard at the beehive-shaped, largely uninhabited islands is to be as far away from it all as you can imagine. 
• Scuba diving in West Papua mostly takes the form of drift dives due to the moderate currents prevalent in the area, which provide nutrients for the myriad fish and coral. The variety of marine life can be staggering.
• At Mansuar it's highly likely you'll encounter large groups of manta rays and turtles.
• From the boat and often close to shore you may get the chance to use your snorkelling gear for some unforgettable interaction with resident pods of dolphins or even some passing whales.
• Due to the sometimes strong currents, diving in Raja Ampat is not really considered a good choice for absolute beginners, rather for scuba divers with a few dives under their weight belts looking to get away from the crowds.

CANCELLATION POLICY

What if I need to cancel my booking?

Your reservation request is obligation free and you can cancel anytime within the first 72 hours. During this time you can easily find matching flights and get answers from our reservations team to any further questions you may have.After you have confirmed and paid for your reservation, the following cancellation policy applies:

• 30 % non refundable
• Between 120 days y 90 days before trip = 70 % refundable
• Less than 90 days before trip = no refund

In case of cancellation the refund will be transferred to your bank account, credit card or paypal account within 10 business days

BEFORE TRAVELLING

• Make sure you meet the country's requirements corresponding to your nationality make sure your passport is valid at least six months after the date you plan to visit the country
• Diving insurance is mandatory for divers of all ages on all of our trips: bring your certificate as proof
• It is strongly recommended to have travel insurance that is appropriate for the type of diving holidays you are going to do
• Check the electrical standards (such as which plugs are used) in your destination country before travelling and bring the appropriate adaptor if necessary.
• The itinerary and the number of dives are indicative and are subject to weather conditions and conditions: safety is always first
• All divers must provide their diving certification card
• Diving computers are compulsory
• Local rates, fuel surcharges, distance rates, port fees, etc. may change without notice due to changes in government policy, changes in the price of oil, etc.
• The changes are beyond our control and the increases must be paid if the boat requests them. We will endeavor to inform you of any changes as soon as possible. A change in these rates does not entitle you to cancel the trip.
