DAY 2 - 6

  • Up to 3 dives a day
  • Within the Maldives, the central atolls preside over the country's diving scene.
  • The underwater treasures of this area were the first discovered and are still some of the most appreciated.
  • Here you can find everything: whale sharks, reef sharks, manta rays, corals, schools of fish and macro-fauna.
  • Malé's northern atoll is perhaps the best-known and most explored Maldives atoll due to its proximity to the International Airport and, therefore, its accessibility. Its location also makes it an ideal starting point for diving cruises. It is still a place to discover in the Maldives, especially for its shipwrecks (some of which are among the most exciting in the Maldives), its famous "Manta point" and its various "Thilas" (name Dhivehi given to the pinnacle reefs).
  • North Male Atoll offers fantastic underwater landscapes and all kinds of marine species, from the most colorful to the most impressive. It is known that the atoll is an ideal place to dive with large species such as sharks and manta rays, which are always at the top of the list.
  • In the south of Male Reef, drift diving and some shipwrecks stand out. You can see hammerhead sharks, gray reef sharks, white tip sharks, eagle rays, manta rays, turtles, toad fish, surgeon fish, jacks, snappers, napoleon, barracuda... the list is almost infinite!
  • The Vaavu atoll is more isolated and less developed in terms of tourist infrastructure, but at the same time it is known to be one of the best snorkeling and diving sites. Another particularity that makes this atoll different from others is that instead of Kandus instead of thilas (pinnacles), Vaavu atoll consists mainly of kandus (channels) that are very good for diving.
  • One of the most famous dive sites on the Vaavu atoll is Fotteyo Kandu, a channel with many caves and large overhangs, known as one of the most important dive sites in the world. Another dive site to see here is Fushi Kandu, which has magnificent colorful coral blocks and many reef sharks in its waters. Miyaru Kandu, which is also a site for shark sightings, consists of caves and fields of black corals and whip corals.
  • In contrast to many other dive sites, the night dive at Alimathaa Kandu (another site on Vaavu atoll), is full of interesting fauna and easy to see. Ari is considered the most open atoll to tourism and this is largely due to the high quality of diving. The Manta-Rayas swim elegantly through the warm, clear waters surrounding the atolls and tranquil islands. With lively waters and many large pelagic species, it is one of the most exciting places in the underwater world to dive.
  • Hammerhead sharks, manta rays and other pelagic fish are most commonly found around Ari Atoll and even the wonderful whale shark often appears, especially in its marine protected areas.
  • Baa Atoll is home to the famous Hanifaru Lagoon, where huge numbers of Manta Rays and whale sharks congregate to feed en masse. Huge schools of fish compete with honeycomb moray eels for attention. There are manta rays and turtles on some dives and a small and charming wreck or two.
  • The dives tend to be in small submarine mounds, called thilas, with many caverns and ledges adorned with beautiful soft corals in pastel colors.
  • The dives are colorful and the fish use the caverns for shelter. Smaller creatures seen regularly include frog fish and lobsters, mantis prawns and some of the prettiest nudibranchs.

  • 2 dives in the morning depending on guest flight schedules Sometimes this may vary however depending on the itinerary.
  • If the boat still has to cross a long distance then only 1 dive will be offered.
