Your first dive will be made in Sharks Bay or one of the local reefs to check your weights and equipment and then we head towards out into the Red Sea taking in the best sites en-route and in the National Park and Dunraven at Shaab Mahmoud.
  • DAY 4 Morning dives then make our way back to Umbi Jetty at Sharks Bay to disembark

  • This popular mini safari covers the magnificent dive sites within the Straits of Tiran and Ras Mohamed National Park. At the southernmost tip of the Sinai Peninsula, the national park is well known for its fabulous marine life and seemingly endless wall dives.

  • The Straits of Tiran are characterised by the 4 reefs of Jackson, Thomas, Woodhouse and Gordon which are rich in marine life.
  • Early morning check dive in Sharks Bay, near to the dive centre.  The reef gently slopes down in a series of ledges. Whale sharks and mantas visit this bay in the springtime; hence, where the name came from. Eagle rays, giant moray and Napoleon are very common here.
  • Then head off to dive some of the best dive sites in the northern Red Sea.
  • Gordon Reef is the southernmost reef of the four and nearest to Sharm. Gordon Reef has a different topography to the others as this site has both a shallow plateau area and drop-offs.
  • The dive can be done as both a mooring and a drift dive. The Loullia wreck is perched on its northern edge, but sadly since it remains above the water, there’s no wreck diving. There is a small eel garden to the north and the entire reef is host to small and large fish in abundance – turtles, giant moray, eagle rays and mantas in the spring.
  • Situated between Gordon and Woodhouse, Thomas is the smallest of the reefs with deep plunging walls covered with soft coral and an amazing gorgonian forest at 25m. It is possible to circumnavigate this reef in one dive, current permitting. Make sure to keep your eye in the blue during the summer months for a passing pelagic but don’t forget to look at the reef sometimes!
  • Woodhouse is a long, slender reef located between Jackson and Thomas. Woodhouse provides a combination of beautiful coral plateaus and walls.
  • There is also a canyon at the halfway point, where the current often starts to strengthen. Be careful at the corner as the current can be very strong in all directions - the so called due ‘washing machine’.
  • The most northerly of the Tiran reefs and one of the most beautiful Sharm el Sheikh dive sites. Jackson Reef is heavily populated with coral plateaus combined with dramatic walls. It is famous for schooling hammerheads that can be found on the north side of the reef early in the summer.  Keep your eye in the blue in the summer.

  • Steep walls covered in coral, dropping down to depth of 1000 meters, is the nature of diving in Ras Mohamed.
  • With miles of tropical reefs, crystal clear water and a rainbow of colourful fish, Ras Mohammed is a world famous dive site and represents everything people associate with diving in the Red Sea
  • The park is protected by marine park laws which all divers must abide by to ensure the survival of such a delicate eco-system.
  • The world renowned dive sites of Sharks and Yolanda reefs are situated at the tips of the Sinai. The two reefs rise up from untold depths to the surface making a breath-taking, stunning and dramatic topography. Hanging out on the wall are Snappers, Bat fish, Barracuda and many more especially when they mass together in the July/August peak period.
  •  Finish your dive above the wreckage of the 'Yolanda', a wreck that made this reef its final resting place in the 1970's. Its cargo of standard toilets, bath tubs and pipe tubes will remain forever as part of the shallow reef.
  • Anemone City is a broad shoulder of reef that juts out at a depth of 20m off the wall of Ras Mohammed. When the current is running large schools of trevallies can be seen and in the shallow water you can find an abundance of anemones after which the site is named. Clownfish in their hundreds occupy this dive site which is a perfect location for photographers.
  • Shark Observatory site is not named for its shark sightings, however, it is a fantastic dive. Beneath the towering cliffs that continue below the surface to disappear into the deep abyss the wall is covered with soft coral and honeycombed with numerous gullies and canyons that are home to hoards of Glass fish and Hatchet fish herded by Red Mouth Grouper. An overhang, fringed with Sea Fans at 10 metres, is a great place to watch the Trevallies, Jacks and Turtles passing in the blue.
  • Ras Ghozlani is one of the most beautiful dive sites in the Ras Mohammed area. With a beautiful display of stunning table corals and glassfish covered coral pinnacles. This site makes for a gentle drift dive with a 15m sandy ledge before dropping to the deep.
  • South of Ras Mohammed, Jackfish Alley is a shallow and well sheltered reef. The highlights are the caves at a depth of 8m which provide a very picturesque swim-through and can be done at the beginning or the end of the dive, the glassfish coral pinnacle at 12m is another beautiful landmark.

  • This trip also includes a dive at the Dunraven wreck.  The "Dunraven" is a ship wreck that sank in 1876. It lies upside down diagonal to the reef. Entering from the prow groups of Glass Fish and  Bat Fish are swimming all around. The stern is completely covered with soft corals. The cargo was entirely lost, what is left today are the boilers at the entrance.
  • The Dunraven steam ship was returning from India loaded with spices and cotton and in 1876 due to a navigational error the Dunraven hit the reef. Some stories also tell that a fight on board was the real reason for the collision. The crew tried to save her for 14 hours from the reef, but when eventually free she sank and finished upside down in Shaa’b Mahmoud at a depth of 17 - 30 metres.
  • Discovered in 1977 the Dunraven is one of the Sharm El Sheikh wreck dive sites that offers the most easy access due to his upside down position.
