Amelia liveaboard was designed specifically for Divers to provide every comfort and convenience needed for the ultimate Dive Safari Vacation. The beautifully decorated liveaboard Amelia is 32m long and has a crew of 8 experienced English and Arabic speaking staff members whose goal is to ensure guests have the ultimate dive safari vacation

This spacious and modern liveaboard unveils the breathtaking and diverse underwater landscapes of the Red Sea. Divers will marvel at the adrenalin pumping Drift Dives, Sheer Drop-offs, Caverns, Wrecks, Vibrant Reefs, large Pelagics and the vast array of Marine Life. 

CABINS

This liveaboard yacht will accommodate up to 20 guests in 10 comfortable air-conditioned cabins. The liveaboard cabins include: 8 Twin Cabins, and 2 Cabins with Double beds. Each liveaboard cabin comes complete with individual temperature controls, private bathrooms with hot water shower, and a safe for valuables. Cabins are perfect for sleeping and resting between dives.

AMENITIES

Amelia liveaboard yacht features a spacious air-conditioned salon with an audio and visual entertainment system complete with movies, as well as free onboard Wi-Fi Internet to stay in touch with family and friends. Enjoy your favorite drink at the Bar located in the second Salon and recap the amazing day of diving. For reading pleasure, there is a library filled with magazines, novels and fish ID books. Guests will find their happy place amidst the multiple levels of Decks featuring cushioned lounge chairs, open-air shaded Sundecks and vast Deck area to wander or work on their tan. For guests who want more time in the crystal clear waters between dives, they are welcomed to go snorkelling or swim with Dolphins

FOOD ON BOARD

The Chef knows that meals are designed to fuel the action packed dives and makes sure the food will be plentiful and appeal to every appetite. Meals on the Amelia liveaboard charters will consist of International cuisine and local delicacies. The Chef prepared, mouth watering meals are served buffet-style on the Main Deck in the dining section of air-conditioned Saloon. The main meals will include a pre-breakfast, breakfast, lunch, dinner. Snacks such as chocolate bars, biscuits, cakes and fruit are available all day long. Beverages including tea, coffee, soft drinks, drinking water and juice are all complimentary. A selection of beer and wine are available for purchase and special diets can be accommodated with advance notice.

DIVING WITH US

The dive platform of the boat is wide, well equipped with the necessary facilities, storage boxes, rinse tanks and fresh water shower. There is a separate tank for cameras and several charging points. The diving on this boat takes place mainly from the spacious dive platform located at the back of the boat. The boat has two zodiac-type boats to take divers to the different dive sites.

The boat visits the most spectacular diving areas in the Red Sea. The Sharks' routes Brothers - Daedalus - Elphinstone islands where you can encounter many different species from whale sharks, hammerheads, oceanic whitetip, tigers, grey, silver tip, silkies and fox sharks. The Deep South - St Johns, Sataya, Rocky and Zabargad all have endless reef walls full of life, dolphins and dugongs. On the Northern routes you will dive the famous wrecks of SS Thistlegorm, Dunraven, the wreck cemetery of Abu Nuhas, Ras Mohamed national park and Tiran Straits the land of whale sharks and giant mantas. Any route you choose, with Amelia you can be sure that you will be accompanied by professional and experienced guides who will make sure your trip in the Red Sea is memorable.

Safety is always important. The crew is trained to manage emergency situations and now first aid. There are life vests and emergency rafts on board, also firefighting equipment in each cabin.

DIVING IN THE AREA

Diving in Egypt is available all year round. The best season is from March to the middle of December. All of these months diving is amazing in this region with water temperatures from 25º-28º. Winter water temperatures (Middle of December to February) are still 23º. There are great discount offers on boats and a minimum number of boats in the area, the dive sites are exclusive to you.

MOST RELEVANT INFORMATION

• The trip begins in Hurghada or Port Ghalib and ends in Hurghada or Port Ghalib depending on the itinerary
• All the trips on this boat are from Saturday to Saturday, the first Saturday embarking, the last Saturday disembarking.
• Attention! The departure/arrival at the marina can change due to the internal logistics of the boat, the bad weather conditions of the previous week or the bad weather forecast.

EMBARKATION AND DEPARTURE 

• The closest airport is Hurghada Intl (HRG) or Marsa Alam (MA) depending on your chosen route.
• Transfer from your hotel or airport (both HRG or MA) on departure day is included and you will be picked up by someone with a Discovery Divers sign
• Check in on the boat is in the afternoon.
• The boat departs Hurghada early in the morning on the following day

ARRIVAL AND DISEMBARKATION

• Check out and disembarkation is in the morning on the last day.

EXTRA INFORMATION

• On the Deep South area is located the Navy base of the naval forces of the Army of Egypt.  
• The dive operator routine is to request permission on Monday and receive a response on Thursday, 2 days before the trip. In the case of a ban on navigation in the areas of Zabargad and Rocky, as well as the areas of St Johns and Abu Fendira, the route will be changed to a similar accessible one. Trip compensation and cancellation are not possible.
• Port departure/arrival can be changed due to internal boat logistic, bad weather conditions on previous week or bad weather forecast. In case of changes all transfers are provided to the new marina, cannot be issue of refund or compensations

GENERAL INFORMATION

• We require you have a minimum of 20 logged dives for cruises that visit the Wreck of the Thistlegorm and 30 logged dives for cruises that visit the marine parks (Brothers, Zabargad, Daedalus & Rocky).
• To dive with a dive buddy, you must be a PADI Open Water diver or equivalent and be able to complete each dive with your buddy or following your guide. On some dives the recommended depth is below 18m therefore advanced or Deep Diver training is advised.
• Many of the dives in the Red Sea are suitable for all levels of divers, however, unpredictable and strong currents are to be expected anytime and anywhere. Inexperienced divers may find some dives challenging and may be asked by the Cruise Director to skip dives that are not suitable for their diving experience
• Number of planned dives depending on the weather conditions and the route are around 18 to 21 dives.
• Currents in some areas of this route can be strong.
• No night dives in Marine parks such BDE

PROGRAM

• DAY 1 (Saturday): Arrival and assistance at the airport. Collecting your luggage. At the indicated time, transfer to the port in Hurghada or Port Ghaleb depending the route. Boarding the boat AMELIA DISCOVERY, welcome drink and presentation briefing of the boat and crew (depending on the schedule of flights will be the first day or the next day early morning). Distribution of cabins. Overnight on board. You can take some time this day to prepare your diving equipment. 
• DAYS 2nd to 6th (Sunday to Thursday) --- are the nº of dives in this trip -DIVING CRUISE "---------------": Diving trip with full board and daily diving plan. You will dive the most important dive sites of this route. 
• DAY 7TH (Friday) 2 dives in the morning. Friday afternoon / night, arrival at port. Dinner and accommodation on board. Free time to enjoy the local atmosphere, shopping and / or optional excursions in the area.
• DAY 8 (Saturday) HURGHADA or PORT GHALEB: Disembark in Port Ghaleb or Hurghada. Transfer to the hotel or airports

RED SEA DIVE ROUTES

BDE - Brothers, Daedalus, Elphinstone Route

• The golden triangle includes the famous Brothers Islands, Daedalus Reef and Elphinstone Reef. It is a route with a long navigation distance, since all the dive sites are far from the coast.
• The Brothers Islands is the highlight of this route. These two islands are located in the middle of the Red Sea and are a refuge of thousands of species, and the encounter with large pelagic is usually common. Their walls are full of coral, the great currents and the spectacular nature of life, are the great references of these islands, not forgetting the sightings of oceanic whitetip, threshers and grey sharks amongst others. We will also dive in the Numidia wreck that with its almost vertical position and the visibility of the Red Sea, makes this wreck a unique visual spectacle. In this area is also the Aida wreck.
• Our second dive destination will be Daedalus Reef, famous for sightings of hammerhead sharks and large coral formations. Large banks of hammerhead sharks live in the area of the reef and come frequently to feed.
• Finally, we will visit the Elphinstone Reef, which stands a few meters above the surface and whose life surprises and amazes even the most experienced divers. All kinds of pelagics visit the cleaning stations on this reef where their walls are lost in the depth of this sea.

The highlight on the dives

• Oceanic whitetip shark "Longimanus" A very curious shark that approaches divers and that is usually a few meters deep. Giant manta rays come to the island for the cleaning stations.
• Thresher sharks, with their characteristic long fins in the form of a whip, patrol the islands. Banks of hammerhead sharks, sometimes reaching up to 20 specimens. Grey and silky sharks are seen often in the reefs. Whale sharks and tigers sharks are another spectacle you can find. H.H. Numidia - British ship of 107m of length sunk in 1901

The North Route from Hurghada

• The route ‘Wrecks and Reefs’ is the most complete and varied. During the week of cruise life on board, embarking and disembarking in Hurghada. This route is ideal both for those who want to discover the famous Red Sea and for those who are going for the first time on a diving cruise Liveaboard. It is suitable for all levels of diving, from novice divers to the most experienced TEC divers, although we recommend a minimum level of Advanced or similar.
• The navigation is very short and pleasant, the diving points being further away after about two hours sailing. Its diversity allows you to enjoy dives in spectacular walls, incredible schools of fish and majestic reefs in the Ras Mohamed National Park, you can enjoy quiet nights and dreamlike landscapes like the Sinai Peninsula, or the multiple islands with its magnificent lagoons and reefs. 
• We will visit the Strait of Gubal and all the wrecks in this area where we will remember part of modern history visiting, probably the most famous wreck in the world - the SS Thistlegorm, sunk in World War II and discovered by Jacques Cousteau in the ‘50s. We will explore the spectacular reef of Abu Nuhas with wrecks Giannis D and Carnatic. And enjoy an amalgam of colours and corals in dives such as Small Crack or Shag Rock, even with a bit of luck, do snorkelling with dolphins.

Daedalus, Sataya, Elphinstone Route

• Located to the southwest of the Red Sea, this area is formed by a set of reefs. Sataya is the main reef and one of the most virgin in Egypt, with large gardens of hard and soft corals, reef sharks, turtles, clown fish, barracudas, etc. They form a horseshoe in the interior, we can concentrate the diving in Dolphin Reef (Sha'ab Sataya), where the sighting of dolphin families are common.
• Our second dive destination will be Daedalus Reef, famous for sightings of hammerhead sharks and large coral formations. Large banks of hammerhead sharks live in the area of the reef and come frequently to feed.
• Finally, we will visit the Elphinstone reef, which stands a few meters above the surface and whose life surprises and amazes even the most experienced divers. All kinds of pelagic visit the cleaning stations on this reef where their walls are lost in the depth of this Sea.

• The farthest Red Sea Deep South route is the one with the greatest variety of environments and greatest diversity in the Red Sea. With long navigation distances between the points, it is a route that can be easily adapted to different levels of diving and where we can see unique and exclusive places that only liveaboard ships can get access to.
• South stands out for the reef life, coral formations and a homing point for sharks, we can snorkel with wild dolphins. We will visit the island of Zabargad with its mysterious Russian wreck, its spectacular coral garden and the impressive soft coral walls of Rocky Island where there are great possibilities to find pelagics. In addition, we will visit the submerged Habilis, with its exuberant life and where so many pelagic come to feed, the pinnacle forest of Umm Arouk, the incredible caves of Umm Hararim and the incredible reefs of Claudius, Malahi and Shaab Maksour.
• We will visit the labyrinth of caves of "Shaa Claudia" in Fury Shoal and we will be dazzled by the play of lights that form underwater, a paradise for the underwater photographer and if the conditions allow it we will explore the reef of Habili Ali in search of the Longimanus. Back to port we will dive in the Marsa Alam area and we will go in search of the Dugongs that inhabit the sand meadows.

North + Brother's Islands Route

• Super complete and varied route in which all the dive sites are the best of the Red Sea and world famous.
• Dive in a week at places like the Ras Mohamed National Park, the Brothers Islands in search of pelagic, some of the best wrecks in the world- the SS Thistlegorm and the Salem Express and along the walls of Abu Kifan in Safaga.
• The variety of dives make this route very special, with diving points very different from each other and where you can appreciate all varieties of life and environment that the Red Sea offers, such as reef and pelagic life, the spectacular historical wrecks or the incredible coral walls.
• With a longer navigation than other routes, we visit the Ras Mohamed National Park to enjoy an authentic underwater paradise, we submerge in the SS Thistlegorm, a British wreck sunk during World War II to enjoy this impressive wreck and explore the spectacular Abu Nu'as reef, known as the wreck cemetery.
• Sail to the remote Brothers islands, highlight of this route. These two islands are located in the middle of the Red Sea, are an oasis of life and food so the encounter with large pelagic is usually common. Its walls full of coral, the great currents and the spectacular nature of life are the great reference points of these islands, without forgetting the sightings of sharks. We will dive into the wrecks Numidia and Aida. Back to Hurghada if weather conditions are favourable, we visit the Salem Express.

ST JOHNS

• St Johns is a vast collection of small reefs offering some of the most remote and rewarding diving in the Red Sea. This incredibly beautiful reef lies a short distance north of the Sudanese border. The reef covers a huge area and many dives would be needed to explore the numerous coral heads and islands. Habili Ali offers giant gorgonians and black corals whilst grey reef, silvertip and schools of hammerhead sharks might be found on the west side. Habili Gafaar is a mass of soft corals teeming with shoals of snappers, butterfly fish and barracudas. Mantas, grey reef and silvertip sharks can often be seen in the blue.
• The farthest south route is one of the routes with the greatest variety of environments and greatest diversity in the Red Sea. With long navigation distances between the points, it is a route that can be easily adapted to different levels of diving and where we can see unique and exclusive places that only liveaboard ships can access. South stands out for the reef life, coral formations and home to sharks, snorkel with wild dolphins.We will visit the island of Zabargad with its mysterious Russian wreck, its spectacular coral garden and the impressive soft coral walls of Rocky Island where there are great possibilities to find pelagics.
• In addition, we will visit the submerged Habilis, with its exuberant life and where so many pelagic come to feed, the pinnacle forest of Umm Arouk, the incredible caves of Umm Hararim and the incredible reefs of Claudius, Malahi and Shaab Maksour. CANCELLATION POLICY

What if I need to cancel my reservation?

Your reservation request is non-binding and can be cancelled at any time within the first 72 hours. During this time you can easily find matching flights and get answers from our booking team to any other questions you may have. After you have confirmed and paid for your reservation, the following cancellation policy applies:

• 30% deposit will not be refunded
• 50% will be charged if you cancel between 91 and 28 days before the date of arrival.
• 100% will be charged if you cancel less than 28 days prior to arrival date

In case of cancellation, the refund will be transferred to your bank account, credit card or paypal account within 10 working days.

BEFORE TRAVELLING

• Make sure you meet the country's requirements corresponding to your nationality
• Make sure your passport is valid at least six months after the date you plan to visit the country
• Diving insurance is mandatory for divers of all ages on all of our trips: bring your certificate as proof
• It is strongly recommended to have travel insurance that is appropriate for the type of diving holidays you are going to do
• Check the electrical standards (such as which plugs are used) in your destination country before travelling and bring the appropriate adaptor if necessary.
• The itinerary and the number of dives are indicative and are subject to weather conditions and conditions: safety is always first
• All divers must provide their diving certification card
• Diving computers are compulsory
• Local rates, fuel surcharges, distance rates, port fees, etc. may change without notice due to changes in government policy, changes in the price of oil, etc. The changes are beyond our control and the increases must be paid if the boat requests them. We will endeavour to inform you of any changes as soon as possible. A change in these rates does not entitle you to cancel the trip.
