Contessa Mia liveaboard, with its tastefully decorated interior, offers dive guests not only World-class diving but a personalized and intimate dive safari vacation.

The Contessa Mia liveaboard is an elegantly designed 112 feet (34m) long dive yacht and features a crew of 10 English, German, and Arabic staff members. The friendly and experienced crew members provide a quality service to ensure guests will have the perfect dive vacation.

This dive safari liveaboard yacht will accommodate 24 guests in 12 spacious and comfortable air-conditioned cabins.

OUR CABINS

Liveaboard Contessa Mia has 10 standard twin bed cabins, 2 on the main deck with windows, and 8 on the lower deck with portholes. There are 2 double bed cabins on the main deck with windows.

All cabins are equipped with individual temperature controls, private bathrooms with hot water showers, hand basin, towels, reading light, mirror, storage, 24-hour, 220v electricity supply, and European-style 2-pin plugs. These cabins are perfect for sleeping and relaxing in privacy between dives.

FOOD ON BOARD

Liveaboard Contessa Mia prepares all her meals "buffet style" using only the freshest ingredients. Meals will be plentiful and will appeal to every appetite and include International cuisine as well as a range of interesting Egyptian and Arabic specialties. The mouth watering cuisine will include pasta, vegetables, rice and meat dishes, local salads and freshly prepared Egyptian desserts and pastries.

The Chefs of Contessa prepare 3 meals a day, plus snacks of candy bars, biscuits, and fresh fruit plus tea, coffee and water, between meals. Soft drinks, beer, wine and other alcoholic drinks are available for purchase. Special diets such as Vegetarian and Halal can be accommodated with advance notice.

AMENITIES ON BOARD

The liveaboard Contessa Mia has many options for comfort and relaxation between dives on this spectacular yacht. Guests may spend time in the spacious air-conditioned salon which features a TV, DVD and music entertainment system complete with movies. Guests may stay connected to friends and family on this dive safari adventure with the availability of free onboard Wi-Fi.

Features include the air-conditioned Restaurant on the Upper Deck with Bar and spectacular ocean views, satellite telephone, and an open-air Dining area. Guests can work on their tan on the Sun deck, or nap under the shaded area with sun mattresses and comfy seating. Guests looking for more action between dives are welcomed to try their hand at fishing or go snorkeling!

This spacious and comfortable liveaboard offers an incredible dive safari adventure as it delivers Divers to Drift Dives, Sheer drop-offs, Caverns, Wrecks, vibrant reefs, large pelagics and a vast array of fish species.

The dive safaris featured on Contessa Mia takes divers to Brothers, Daedalus, Elphinstone, Salem, North and the Straits of Tiran - some of the most spectacular dive sites of the Red Sea.

MOST RELEVANT INFORMATION

• The trip begins in Hurghada and ends in Hurghada
• The closest airport is Hurghada Intl (HRG) 
• Pickup time at the airport is according to your flights. Give yourself enough time to go through immigration and pickup your bags. You will be picked up by someone holding a Sea Serpent sign.
• Hotel pickup time is in the afternoon

EMBARKATION AND DEPARTURE 

• Check in on the boat is between 17:00 and 19:00.
• The boat departs Hurghada in the morning on the following day

ARRIVAL AND DISEMBARKATION

• It is your responsibility to ensure you respect the 24 hour no-fly time after your last dive!
• The boat docks back in Hurghada in the afternoon on the second to last day
• Check out and disembarkation is between 08:00 and 12:00 on the last day.
• Hotel drop-off time is in the morning
• Airport drop-off time is in the morning

EXTRA INFORMATION

• It is mandatory that each diver has the following equipment and papers:  Dive computer, surface signaling device (SMB), snorkel, diving certificate, a regulator with alternate air source, torch (for night dives), a weight belt or integrated weight jackets.  
• We also suggest that you should have the most important spare parts with you like mask and fin straps and the repair kit for your type of regulator. Please think as well about batteries, seals and bulbs for your torch.
• Rental equipment is not normally available onboard and need to be pre booked

• Their walls are covered in soft corals of all colors, black corals and forests of fan corals, creating a true feast for the eyes. Big tuna, shoals of jack fish and snappers cruise in the blue accompanied by hammerheads, grey reef, silver-tip, silky and oceanic white-tip sharks and mantas.

PROGRAM

DAY 1

• Arrival and assistance at the airport. Collecting your luggage.
• At the indicated time, transfer to the port 
• Boarding the boat, welcome drink and presentation briefing of the boat and crew (depending on the schedule of flights will be the first day or the next day early morning).
• Distribution of cabins.
• Overnight on board.
• You can take some time this day to prepare your diving equipment. 

DAYS 2 - 6

• Enjoy your Diving trip with full board and daily diving plan.
• You will dive the most important dive sites of this route.

DAY 7

• 2 dives in the morning.
• Afternoon / night, arrival at port.
• Dinner and accommodation on board.
• Free time to enjoy the local atmosphere, shopping and / or optional excursions in the area.

DAY 8 

• Breakfast
• Disembark.
• Transfer to the hotel or airports

The Brother Islands

• The tops of two undersea mountains rising from the depth, are located about 50 nautical miles off-shore, near the town of Quseir in the Red Sea.
• Part of the Marine Park, they offer breathtaking underwater scenery, wall diving along their entire perimeter and the possibility to spot a wide variety of pelagics. Their walls are covered in soft corals of all colors, black corals and forests of fan corals creating a true feast for the eyes.
• Big tuna, shoals of jack fish and snappers cruise in the blue accompanied by hammerheads, grey reef, silver-tip, silky and oceanic white-tip sharks and mantas.
• The thresher shark, an oceanic species, as well as the magnificent Whale Shark, occasionally are spotted close to the reef, circle the walls of the Brothers on a regular basis. 
• While diving in this area of the Red Sea the huge and spectacular moon fish have also been spotted several times near the reefs.
• The Aida II, an Egyptian supply vessel and the Numidia, a cargo ship sunk in 1901, lie on the walls of the Big Brother.
• They are covered in soft and hard corals and they are a real treat.
• Remember night dives at Brothers are not allowed by government

The Abu Nuhas Wrecks 

• Also known as the 'Ships Graveyard', this reef is positioned dangerously close to the busy shipping lanes of the Gulf of Suez.
• This reef has claimed more ships than any other in the area. On the north side are four wrecks laying on a sandy seafloor at the bottom of a steep sloping reef layered with table corals.
• Wrecks here include the Ghiannis D, Carnatic, Tile and Lentil Wrecks. On the south side is a safe anchorage for liveaboards and two ergs, known as Yellow Fish Reef.

HMS Thistlegorm 

• With its historical cargo of World War II machinery and equipment, all neatly stowed in its open holds, the wreck of the Thistlegorm would be a highlight of diving anywhere in the world, not just in Sharm El Sheikh.
• It couldn't have been more conveniently located for diver exploration if it had been scuttled for the very purpose rather than sunk by German bombers.
• This most famous of Sinai dives and the most popular dive site in the world, has to be experienced several times to truly appreciate all its wonders.

Ras Mohammed 

• Still Egypt's most popular marine park, Ras Mohamed's waters off the tip of the Sinai Peninsula have been protected from fishing since the 1980s.
• Drifting along the wall from Shark Reef to Yolanda Reef, you are often likely to encounter passing trevally and barracuda that frequent the region for breeding.
• The reefs have become safe havens to many of the Red Sea's endemic fish species.

Safaga

• Shaab Sheer and Panorama are 2 of the popular dive sites but Safaga area has many different reefs with their own personality. Panorama reef has very versatile diving possibilities from drop offs to drift dives with napoleon fish, stone fish, morays

CANCELLATION POLICY

What if I need to cancel my reservation?Your reservation request is non-binding and can be cancelled at any time within the first 72 hours. During this time you can easily find matching flights and get answers from our booking team to any other questions you may have. After you have confirmed and paid for your reservation, the following cancellation policy applies:

• 30 % is non-refundable
• Between 120 days and 90 days before the trip = 70 % is refundable
• 90 days before the trip = no refund

In case of cancellation, the refund will be transferred to your bank account, credit card or paypal account within 10 working days.

BEFORE TRAVELLING

• Make sure you meet the requirements for your nationality and entry into the country you are visiting,
• Make sure your passport is valid for at least six months after the date you plan to leave the country
• Dive insurance is mandatory for divers of all ages on all our trips: bring your certificate as proof
• It is strongly recommended to take out a travel insurance that is appropriate for the type of dive vacation booked
• Check the electrical standards (such as what plugs are used) in your destination country before you travel and bring the appropriate adapter if necessary.
• Itinerary and number of dives are indicative and subject to weather and conditions: safety always comes first
• The operator of the vessel is not responsible for civil unrest, terrorism, strikes, illness, epidemics, accidents, injuries, damage, loss and theft, quarantine, customs regulations, changes to flight schedules, delays, deportation or refusal of entry by immigration authorities and other circumstances beyond our control.
• In the event of a change in the cruise itinerary due to a major cause there is no refund, if there would be a refund if the duration of a cruise were to change, the affected passengers will be offered a credit or refund of the cruise fare pro-rated for the number of days of reduction of the cruise itinerary that was scheduled.
• In the event that a cruise is cancelled, the ship will make every effort to provide a suitable alternative including, the option to participate in another available ship.
• If no alternative offered is accepted by the affected cruise passengers, the ship reserves the right to provide a refund of the amount of the cruise fare paid or not.
• All divers must provide their dive certification card
• Dive computers are mandatory
• Local rates, fuel surcharges, distance rates, port fees, etc. may change without notice due to changes in government policy, changes in oil prices, etc. Changes are beyond our control and increases must be paid upon request. We will endeavor to inform you of any changes as soon as possible. A change in these rates does not give you the right to cancel the trip.
