THE M/Y NORTADA

Built specifically for Divers, the 85 ft (28m) liveaboard Nortada has 5 English and Spanish speaking crew members who will ensure the Ultimate Dive Safari.

OUR CABINS

There are 4 en-suite cabins with private bathrooms all on the Lower deck, with 2 Single beds and 1 Single full-sized bunk bed. All the cabins include: air-conditioning, portholes, private bathroom with hot water shower, hand basin, toiletries and towels, reading lights, bedside cabinet and mirror, 2-pin US 110 electricity, bedding and luggage space, possibility for triple occupancy (third full size upper berth).

AMENITIES

When not engaged in the spectacular diving, guest of the nortada can relax on the sun deck and take in the amazing vistas of the galapagos islands. Guests can also rest in the air conditioned Main Salon and watch movies on the DVD player and large screen TV or enjoy music on the entertainment centre. The real thrills between dives will be the shore excursions to the amazing islands with its exotic indigenous species. The Land Safari will reveal the creatures Darwin once encountered. Learn about the history of the islands with a visit to Fausto Llerena Breeding Centre and Charles Darwin Research Station.

FOOD ON BOARD

The crew of liveaboard Nortada understands that abundant and delicious food is the key to fuelling the action packed dives. Three delicious Chef prepared meals will be served a day and will include Western food, mouth-watering Local dishes and Vegetarian options. Dining takes place in the air-conditioned lounge or on the open air deck. Special dietary needs can be accommodated with advance notice. All beverages including a selection of beer will be served. Also included are drinks and snacks all day long to ensure no one goes hungry on this dive vacation adventure.

DIVING WITH US

Nortada stands alone among galapagos liveaboards on scuba diving charters around the best sites of the galapagos, including the islands of Wolf and Darwin. With only 8 Divers on board, the incredible Dive Safari vessel, the spacious Nortada is intimate and caters directly to each individual guest. Travelling to some of the best dive sites in the World, such as Darwin Island, Wolf Island and Cape Douglas/Punta Vicente Roca, Marine Adventurers will see rare wildlife such as flightless Cormorants, Galapagos Penguins, Marine Iguanas and several other endemic species. The vast number of large pelagics and fish species will blow you away. Highlights include feeding Marine Iguanas, the Red Lipped Batfish, Horn Sharks, Mola-Mola and spotting Baleen Whales.

There are 4 en-suite cabins with private bathrooms all on the lower deck. Each cabin's standard set-up is twin occupancy with 2 single lower berths but has a third full size single upper berth for triple occupancy on full charters. All the cabins have: air-conditioning, portholes on lower deck , bathroom with toilet and hot water shower, hand basin, toiletries and towels, reading lights, bedside cabinet and mirror, life jackets, 2-pin US 110 electricity, bedding and luggage space. ARRIVAL AND DISEMBARKATION

  • Your last dives will be on the second to last day in the morning
  • It is your responsibility to ensure you respect the 24 hour no-fly time after your last dive!
  • The boat docks back in Santa Cruz (Baltra) in the evening on the second to last day
  • Check out and disembarkation is around 09:00 on the last day.

EXTRA INFORMATION

  • The Nortada departs from Baltra/Santa Cruz Island
  • Guests fly into Ecuador and take a connecting flight, through Guayaquil or Quito, to Santa Cruz/Baltra airport in Galapagos (airport code GPS)
  • Fly into Baltra airport (airport code: GPS)
  • Both Guayaquil and Quito have daily flights to the islands.
  • You will need to overnight in Guayaquil or Quito before flying on to the Galapagos
  • We also recommend to arrive in Galapagos a day before if possible to avoid any possible delays as a result of volcano activity.

ITINERARY GENERAL INFORMATION

  • No minimum number of dives required but recommended is 20 to 50 dives
  • The Galapagos Islands are often considered by experienced divers to represent something of a pinnacle in their scuba careers.
  • Punta Carrion, Cousin Rock, Wolf Island, Darwin Island, Cape Douglas, Punta Vincente Roca, Cape Marshall, Puerto Coca, Manta Ray City, plus land visit to Fausto Llerena Breeding Center and Charles Darwin Research Station.

TRAVEL PROGRAM

DAY 1

  • Once you arrive at the Baltra Airport, you will be asked to pay the $100 USD National Park fee and transfer card in cash.
  • Please keep your Park Fee receipt
  • If you are already in Galapagos and making your own way to the boat, you will need to meet the boat on the dock at the passenger pier in Puerto Ayora at 12.00 noon on the departure date
  • Check dive is close to the harbour in the afternoon

CANCELLATION POLICY

What if I need to cancel my booking?

Your reservation request is obligation free and you can cancel anytime within the first 72 hours. During this time you can easily find matching flights and get answers from our reservations team to any further questions you may have. After you have confirmed and paid for your reservation, the following cancellation policy applies:

  • 30% of the total booking amount will be charged if you cancel more than 365 days prior to arrival
  • 30% will be charged if you cancel between 365 and 91 days prior to arrival
  • 100% will be charged if you cancel less than 91 days prior to arrival

In case of cancellation the refund will be transferred to your bank account, credit card or paypal account within 10 business days

BEFORE TRAVELLING

  • Make sure you meet the country's requirements corresponding to your nationality make sure your passport is valid at least six months after the date you plan to visit the country
  • Diving insurance is mandatory for divers of all ages on all of our trips: bring your certificate as proof
  • It is strongly recommended to have travel insurance that is appropriate for the type of diving holidays you are going to do
  • Check the electrical standards (such as which plugs are used) in your destination country before travelling and bring the appropriate adaptor if necessary.
  • The itinerary and the number of dives are indicative and are subject to weather conditions and conditions: safety is always first
  • All divers must provide their diving certification card
  • Diving computers are compulsory
  • Local rates, fuel surcharges, distance rates, port fees, etc. may change without notice due to changes in government policy, changes in the price of oil, etc. The changes are beyond our control and the increases must be paid if the boat requests them. We will endeavor to inform you of any changes as soon as possible. A change in these rates does not entitle you to cancel the trip.
