Sharks Bay Umbi Village is an intimate dive resort with a friendly village feel, only 10 minutes from Naama Bay.

• The beachfront resort offers water sports, shisha, an open air restaurant and a bar. Massages can be arranged on request.  The individually styled Bedouin Village (Standard) Rooms are built into the cliff above the bay and have superb views across the sea to Tiran Island, many with balconies or terraces. Sharks Bay Umbi offers a great house reef and varied diving, suitable for all experience levels. 

This PADI 5* Dive Center offers daily dive trips to local wrecks and marine protected areas. There is a fleet of spacious dive boats moored at the resort's private jetty, allowing for complete flexibility and convenience. 

PADI diving courses are delivered in small groups, with a maximum of five students per instructor. The dive centre has a fully equipped classroom but often the instructors like to teach outside so you can work on your sun-tan at the same time.

After your day on the boat it is a short walk back to the Bedouin tent where you can relax with a drink at the end of the day!.

WHAT TO SEE

Orange and purple antigen clouds obscure the view of the reef. The reefs are so full of color that it can be difficult to identify individuals, but you should be aware of some of the endemic areas. Grey reef sharks, tunas and barracudas hunt. Expect turtles and humphead wrasse, a variety of moray eels. Whale sharks, though not seen in large numbers, come to visit. Hyacinth fish and batfish glow in the blue and groupers and puffer fish roam the reef.

Arrival

• The resort can arrange airport transfers if necessary for 10 euros each way for a group of 1-4 people. To arrange this you only need to know the flight number, the airport of departure and the time of arrival in Sharm el Sheikh. Your driver will wait for you outside the terminal with a sign of Sharks Bay Umbi Diving Village. The journey will take approximately 15 minutes.

Beach Cabin

The wooden cabins are at sea level with the front row directly on the beach. All have small private bathrooms, air-conditioning and mini-fridges. This is the perfect Sharm holiday beach accommodation for families with small children or for anyone who wants easy access to the beach and waterfront. Towels are provided in the bathroom but not for beach use. All rooms are twin bedded.

DAY 1

• Arrival at Sharks Bay Umbi Diving Village for 7 nights accommodation in rooms with sea view

Days 2 - 7

• Check in at the dive centre at 08:00 to meet your guide and start your 5 day boat dive package. The standard dive package includes 2 boat dives per day. The third dives can be done as an optional extra, which will be paid locally.

• The maximum depth for diving in Egypt on compressed air and nitrox (if suitably qualified) is 40 metres
